Application Details

The China: Chinese Language and Culture in Nanjing Program is organized by the Confucius Institute (CI) at North Carolina State University. This program is run through the NC State Study Abroad Office (SAO) and follows all NC State University and SAO requirements. Our program is also a “limited service program”, which means that after the initial application and acceptance to the program by the SAO, the rest of the logistics and payments will be handled by the Program Director through the Confucius Institute Office.

Summer, May 17 – June 20, 2017 (five weeks)

Feb 15: Application Deadline

Students are accepted on a rolling basis as soon as they submit initial requirements. Final deadline to submit application is February 15.

Feb 29: Non-Refundable Deposit Due

All applicants must submit a $250 deposit to the Confucius Institute. This deposit will go toward the $3,300 program fee.

Apr 1: Post Decision Materials Due

Once you are accepted, please log back into the Study Abroad application portal to complete the rest of your application materials.

Apr 15: Final Payment Due

Please be sure to pay for the rest of your program costs by April 15th. Payments due to the Confucius Institute.

Nanjing, China (additional excursions to Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou)

Knowledge of Chinese not necessary. Courses will be taught in Chinese and English.

$3,350 (estimated) Program Fee per student.  This cost includes:

$30 Non Degree Seeking Student Studies Form 【for Non-NCSU Students Only】

$300 (estimated) Extra spending money for food, shopping, etc.

  • $100 (estimated) meals while studying in Nanjing
  • $200 (estimated) personal expenses

$135 (estimated) Passport Application Fee
